Sooo Pinoy: Shangri-La Mactan's Tides Restaurant

Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa offers a range of tempting dining options to indulge in during your stay in Cebu. Restaurants on offer include Acqua Restaurant which features contemporary Italian cuisine; Tides Restaurant which features Mexican, Japanese, and Indian cuisine and Breeze Bar which offers refreshing cocktails and comfort foods.

Our second stop was at Shangri-La Mactan's Tides Restaurant. I was quite excited because it has been a couple of months since I last visited the place.

Pork La-uya was the highlight of our visit. It is boiled pork knuckles or belly cooked with monggo, jackfruit, tomatoes, okra and other spices. The dish is a concoction f Illonggo's staple Kadios Baboy Langka and the Tagalog soup, Sinigang.

I fell in love with the pork. It was very tender and flavorful. The soup was gorgeous. If you stare at it, you'll notice that it is composed of different vegetable juices, that make the entire taste so unique.

Shangri-La Mactan's Tides Restaurant celebrates the diverse flavors of the country's various regions, by offering only Filipino dishes at dinner time every Tuesday. They call this "Filipino Nights".

Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa is located at Punta EngaƱo Road, Lapu-Lapu City, 6045 Cebu, Philippines. For inquiries or reservations you may contact them at 322310288 or email at mac@shangri-la.com.
