The Great Media Cookout at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu

Happening at Marco Polo Plaza Cebu's Cafe Marco is a new addition to its Culinary Journeys; The Great Media Cookout.

We read, hear and watch the works of Cebuano food writers, photographers, videographers and bloggers about Cafe Marco's food events and their critics. This time, Marco Polo invites them to put down their pens and cameras and take hold of knives and aprons.

For the very first time, Cafe Marco serves dishes prepared by distinguished media personalities in Cebu. They judge other people's food creations, it's about time for the restaurant and its diners to be the judge of their foods.

Teasers were spread all over social media platforms last week as to who the media personalities are, and finally, last night, they were unveiled together with their specialties in the kitchen.

The first video clip below is the trailer. The second video clip is the introduction of media personalities.

Some of the media prepared more than one dish so don't be surprised if some of these are not present at Cafe Marco when you visit. One factor affected by this is the availability of the ingredients. This is not a bad implication. In fact, last night, so many Marco Polo guests devoured the media's dishes plate after plate that many other guests failed to taste. They were all delicious.

Having been able to attend food events because of my blog, I have built rapport with some of the featured media personalities. I feel grateful for that but it was only last night when I started to feel honored for being able to meet and interact with them. Their dishes spoke to me in many good ways.

My Top Three Dishes

BEST Green Prawns by Dr. Nestor Alonso
BETTER: Grilled Boneless Bangus by Tonee Despojo
GOOD: Humba with Egg by Ann Marie Tan

All the dishes are worth the long lines but these three really piqued my appetite. I recommend you to try them.

Visit Cafe Marco & join the ten-day Culinary Journey, celebrating the scrumptious dishes of Cebu's famed food critics. Culinary Journeys: The Great Media Cookout runs from 12 - 21 April, 2013.
