Lachi's Sans Rival ATBP's Chili Con Carne, Tofu with Teriyaki Sauce, Callos, Asian Spicy Chicken, Unforgetable Grilled Pork Ribs, Asian Spicy Chicken

Great food does not necessarily entail the use of fine ingredients and kitchenware. This is a lesson Lachi's Sans Rival ATBP can teach to food enthusiasts and aspiring chefs.

Lachi's Sans Rival ATBP is a dessert shop that used to exclusively sell homemade cakes. It eventually added meal sets to its menu.

The simplicity of the shop makes it easy to find. Huge glass windows dominate its facade, half covered with a colorful striped curtain.

The inside is so simple. The cushioned and wooden seats paired with the tables hovered with colorful table linens wisely utilized the shop's small area.

Yellow lights hit the surfaces in the place giving a 'sunny' feel.

Wooden spoons embellished with ribbons and stationary attached against the wall share a sense of sharing. It tells me that everybody deserves to have a round of dessert or two or perhaps a meal at Lachi's.

There's no other way I can describe Lachi's but the term 'simple' except for its food. It's food is astonishingly good. I bet no one could ever think that dishes made out of simple ingredients, using simple tools, housed in a simple setting would taste very delicious.

Chili Con Carne is ground beef mixed with tomato sauce and beans and topped with cheese. It is served with slices of bread. The Chili Con Carne was very delicious! Its spiciness wasn't exaggerated.  It had a 'challenging' kind of spiciness where spice-lovers and haters alike would find it good enough as their meal.

Tofu with Teriyaki Sauce is tofu fried and drizzled with Teriyaki sauce and served with cucumber. If you are a subscriber or follower in some of my social media accounts, you know that I have been searching for the 'good thing' about Tofu. I have posted more than once that I have never tasted Tofu that's good so I find it last in my list of not-favorites.

It is in Lachi's that I've found the answer. The Tofu was very good! I'm not so sure if they were bread crumbs but they were crumbs for sure- the crumbs were very playful in the mouth with the fried tofu and sweet Teriyaki sauce. It was simply a good combination of blandness, sweetness, and crunchiness.

Callos was beef, bell peppers, peas special paprika and other seasonings stewed. This became an instant favorite. The beef was simmered for more than three hours, it was so tender! The taste was very delicious, I thought of marrying the cook! Funny but that's how I can describe it!

Asian Spicy Chicken is chicken fried and mixed with Asian sauce. This was very crunchy, crispy sweet and at the same time spicy. I like this dish!

Unforgettable Grilled Pork ribs is pork ribs marinated with secret ingredients and then grilled. It may look burned in the picture but actually it wasn't. I have to say that this is one heck of a pork rib. It was so delicious- a little oily in a good way- makes it 'saucy' and tasty. The pork was so tender.

Laing, a dish, I believe I took a picture of but couldn't find in my memory card, was crazy delicious! It had a strong spicy yet sweet mix of ingredients. If I ever go back to Lachi's, I'll never miss to order this.

Chinese Pork Belly is boneless chicken cooked with green leaves. It tasted as simple as it was cooked but with a savory filling.

Lachi's is known for its desserts. I'm a fan of eating sweets but evaluating it is not my forte. Let me just show you some of the treats I partook at Lachi's.

Lachi's is open from Monday to Saturday at 11:00am to 8:00pm. It is located at Door 1-H Values School Building, Ruby Street, Marfori Heights Subdivision, Davao City 8000. For inquiries, call 224-5552.
