Appreciate Potatoes more with US Potato Board

Even those who do not know me personally can affirm the trivia that the potato ranks first in my list of favorite food. If you're surprised, you are most likely unaware of what the spud offers.

Potatoes somewhat mirror my personality. Its outside look doesn't truly define whats inside. Many are misled about the benefits of this tuberous crop because of its texture and form. But just like books, don't judge potatoes by its cover.

AirAsia Cafe In-flight Meals: Chicken Rice

Travelling on air for four hours could be a famishing activity, especially when you have nothing in mind to do except for browsing the in-flight menu or food magazine.

That was basically the situation I found myself in on my way to Malaysia. I was thankful that Air Asia Cafe's in-flight menu was minimalist and image-oriented. Picking food could have been a boring chore if it weren't.

Blackbeard's Seafood Island Crabs

I haven't really been to a place with a specialized menu for crabs. This is exactly the reason why, figuratively speaking, my heart skipped a beat when Blackbeard's Seafood Island came to Cebu.

People who don't enjoy crabs as much as a crab junkie like me does, would expectedly wonder the specialty of crabs. Tell you what: there is actually more than the white flesh contained in the orange crust. There are actually so many things to twist about the dish.

Why I love Seafood

Seafood, as its name suggests, are any organisms from the sea regarded as food by humans. These are our salmons, oysters, mussels and octopods. I find these forms simply delectable but that is not the only reason why I love it.

Kuya J's Baked Scallops
Fishes, lobsters and seaweeds come from a different world, a secret vast expanse of salt water that our kind will never yield; it has witnessed the evolution of its fellow creatures and the unimaginable happenings under land.

Five Things You Shouldn't Be Paying

Talking about food has somewhat turned into a punishment for me. This is because it does more harm than good, considering the calories I need to count and burn, the time I allot despite my very hectic schedule and most importantly, the money I need to spend at restaurants for the content of my blog.

All throughout the years, I have come to learn the plates worth the big bucks and the bites that waste our penny. Below are some of the things you ought not to be paying whether or not you're a food blogger.

Perils of a Food Blogger

Food Blogging can be one of the best jobs in the world. However, in the nature of things, it has its own drawbacks. Running foodiecraft.com for over two years, I have to say that I have experienced much of the pros and cons of maintaining a food blog. It's easy to pinpoint the benefits and so I am going to share to you the perils of a food blogger.

Being a food blogger is not as easy as it seems. Sure, all you have to do is eat and write about what you ate and in return you get free meals in fancy and cheap restaurants alike, you enjoy exclusive food samplings, you receive surprise birthday cakes and a whole lot more, but there is more to that. There is more to that.

Chef: A Movie Review

For many reasons including the unwillingness to shell out two bucks for a three-hour medium and a mindset that there are far more productive matters to do than going to the movies, I am picky at what movies I watch in the big screen.

Just about an hour ago, movie credits rolled up before my eyes and as it did, I thought that I just made one of the best decisions of the day- watch "Chef". I was, at first, reluctant to watch the film because although it was about food, I had to wait two hours before it starts screening and I'll be going home extremely late after watching it.

Good-bye Canon Powershot A490

For every blog, there is a particular tool that runs it. In the case of Foodie Craft, it's my point and shoot camera, the Canon Powershot A490.

My Canon Powershot A490 is the very first device I bought using money from my own work. I bought it for the sole purpose of starting a food blog a few years back. Having said that, I bet you now have a clue as to how important my camera is to this blog and to me.

Getting Rid of the Holiday Guilt

You are devouring your second plate for lunch. Before you finish it, you plan to overwhelm yourself with a cool dessert waiting in the freezer of your aunt's house. Your friend invites you to have dinner at his place and because you know that it's always a good meal when it's prepared by his mom, you affirmed by replying to his sms.

You continue to eat and suddenly you remember that you're going to have dinner with your family. You're mother is preparing all of her specialities because of the Christmas Season. You plan to eat dinner twice so as not to dissappoint any of the parties.
