Moving On to 2018

So many unexpected happenings took place in my life the past year and from all of it I learned one great lesson: Move on.

For many of us, moving on could be the toughest thing to do. This is understandable for countless reasons including the matter that it's hard to set someone or something free after you've invested time, money and efforts for them.

The easiest way, I have discovered, is to fathom the significance of letting go. One has to try to see the effects if he/she decides to step forward. I was able to do this that is why it took me just a very short amount of time to not even think about reading another chapter but actually closing and opening a new book.

Juggling three jobs for a few years was absolutely an exhausting yet fulfilling experience. It was my choice. I didn't have to but I wanted to. My aim was to expand my connections, expose myself in the corporate world and of course earn money so I could acquire the things I wanted.
Successful people keep moving. They go through hard times, they make mistakes but they don’t quit.
I'm very grateful to have been a Community Commutations Manager for a premiere mall for four years. It was a good run. Though I could have made it five or more, I sought for a place where I could learn new things whether or not it's related to that particular job. I need personal and professional growth and so I moved on to another job.

Alongside leaving that work, I also dropped the microphone as regular host of a weekend market. I had to do it so I could focus more on my regular job where on my 8th month, I got promoted to a managerial position.

It wasn't all easy, leaving my comfort zone but it's the exact same reason why I left, it's different and uneasy therefore there is an opportunity to gain new knowledge.

It is difficult to teach someone as patient and forgiving as me on how to give up and let go. I am the type of person who clings on to things with so much care so when I decide to give up on a person, it means there's absolutely a grave reason behind it.
Some people come in your life just to teach you how to let go.
Despite the countless chances offered to an former lover, I was given more reasons to let go and so I did with all the pleasure. At this point, I am very happy with my life and I am very satisfied with what I did although at times I still question myself why I didn't do it earlier. Time truly has a funny way of working things.

You would know I have been to different places this year if you follow me on Instragram and you watch my daily videos on Facebook Stories. If you don't, have a look at at the video I made in my recent trip to Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia here. To zero down this section: travel more.
Climb mountains not so the world can see you, but so you can see the world.
I must say that 2017 is the best year of my life, so far. Even if some of my greatest feats didn't fall in any of its days, it does hold a multitude of moments I will always treasure.

As 2018 begins, I'll make it a goal to continue moving on. I will move on from old friends, from negativity, from past mistakes, from bad situations.

Let's all move on. Ring in the new year with the courage to stepping towards a new dimension of your self- a better and brighter one. Happy New Year everybody! Cheers!
